Default Bang for my tuning buck...tuners enlighten me....

I am baggin my truck and laying off the performance mods for a while... I will get back to it though... I will have about 300-400 bucks left over after I buy my kit and was wonerding what would be the best possible tune I could get for the dollar... I am not looking to turn my truck into an 11 sec monster or anything, just something to get rid of the top end limiter, recalibrate for tires etc... shift points, tranny press, air/fuel, timing and other small things...
-how are the Wait4Me tunes? Nelson? Westers? or would I just be better off with a handheld like a predator or a hyper"crap"... let me know what you think...

I'd stay away from the hand helds. Nelson tune gets my vote or a program such as HPTuners.
BTY I am a know-it-all. Fake it tell you make it.

Get Tunercat OBD2 and tune it yourself EVERYTHING for $379.00, you can EASILY: remove torque management, realibrate for different tires and gears, reset shiftpoints and TCC apply/relese points and set top speed limiter from 0-255mph or set your rev limiter there are about 500 other things you can change bur those require some tuning skill.

peace

I Would look into either HP Tuners, or EFI Live. You can adjust your truck exactly how you want it, to your own driving habits.

Yeah, you do have to get a laptop, right now. But.....I think the newer versions of either tuning products are coming out with handheld versions that can be programmed with your desktop, and flashed in the field. Coming sometime in 06.
