alternator 105 to a 130?

When moving up to a 130/145amp or larger model over the 105amp unit, the case is larger and as such moves the centerline up a little over what the smaller alternator would have been and is the reason for the longer belt. It doesn’t matter when comparing the 130 and 145amp units, as they share the same style case and don’t require a belt change between them in case you were wondering.

The alternators have been pretty much the same from the late 80's-early 90's until now, with only small revisions and upgrades. The CS130 was the base model alternator for most every GM vehicle made from the early 90's onwards. It's the 105amp model you are trying to replace. It comes in a variety of amperage ratings, but they get hot as a base alternator and aren't very durable, especially if you want to upgrade.
If you can, try and go for a CS144 model, which is larger and better in every way. I'm not sure of how easy it fits in the place of the smaller CS130, but as long as it has the same bolt pattern (pick for the right application), it should be fully compatible. The connector is the same, it's should have 4-pins, but only 2-3 being used for most applications (mechanical diesels can get a tachometer signal from the L-Wire on both models) and even with a lower amp. rating, it will put out more voltage at idle and low RPM's than most any CS130 could.

And I am replacing the AD 105A. Sense you mentioned it, I did look for a CS144 but it was used and comes off a vehicle with over 200k on the odometer. Scared of how much longer it has. This is the first alt. I have had to get ever on this vehicle and my truck has over 210k on it with the same alt. anyway... found a 130, a 145 and a 200A AD series. price separation is about $15-$20 between the 130-145a and about $175 and up for the 200A.
THANKS GUYS...Im done..going to spend some cash. Hopefully they wont break it off in me to bad..BAHAHA
