Default 80e swap pcm segment swap problems....

I just finished my 80e swap and need a segment swap, however my tuner told me hp tuners has no segment swaps for OS 12606961. Anyone out there with a segment swap for this OS or what are my options now? I was advise to maybe go with a new pcm. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Find a tune file for a 60E/5.3 truck with this OS #. Then you should be able to do a full flash to install the new OS if it is compatible. Then find a 80E tune with the same OS and do the segment swap. Will have to apply all your other tune changes to the new OS.

You are just swapping the transmission control segment of the software from one tune file to another. The rest of your tune stays the same. It is not just the calibration tables, but all the applicable code for controlling the trans.

My tuner said if we find a tune file with the different OS # the vin numbers won't match. Is this correct? Any way around this?

Put your VIN in the new calibration. A competent tuner should know that and how to do it.

OK here's what I plan to do, I'll download a stock os 12592618 file from HP tuners repository, licence it, and then request a Vin swap to my Vin. Then I can have a 80e segment swap done to the tune. Anyone foresee anything wrong here?

Thanks for all the advise guys!
