Default 80e to 60e segment swap help

Working on getting rid of a buddy's Nelson mail order tune for a real street tune using hp tuners. The stock pcm he obtained was from an 01 HD 6.0/80E. we've go everything pretty much done except for the trans tuning due to the pcm still thinking the truck is running an 80e even though under the trans tables we changed it all over to 60e settings.

Emailed HP tuners and they said to take the pcm to a dealership and have them flash a 5.3/60e file, but that costs another $100... I know there's a way to perform a segment swap yourself, but haven't found a sure way to go about doing it.

We do segment swaps on a daily basis, if we recommended a dealer flash it there was likely a good reason for it.

ok so here was the original email

"I recently went to the salvage and bought myself a PCM since my current one is locked by Nelson. Yesterday a buddy of mine and I tuned my truck using that PCM, but we were having issues with the 1-2 shift. Apparently the PCM was out of a 2001 1500HD with 6.0 and 4L80e tranny. I am a 5.3 with 4l60e tranny. Now, the 2-3 shift is working perfectly fine and shifting exactly when we command it to, but the 1-2 shift is hitting rev limiter before it'll shift, no matter how low we set the commanded rpm. We quized a buddy of ours that does a lot of tuning and he said something about possibly having to do a segment swap, since the computer was from a 4l80e truck. I read through the "Trans Segment swaps" thread but nothing in there directly answered my question. SO, my question is, do I need to do a segment swap, or is there some setting in HPT that we are missing that needs to be changed? Thank you for the help."
He asked my advice, I gave him my best advice. First email did not come with any files attached and sounded like he just wanted some guidance more than anything which is what I did. I would handle it the same way in a second.

The second email that you are referring to he just asked for a segment swap, he didn't ask me any questions about "do I need a segment swap" or this or that. Just said can you please do a segment swap to so and so, no need for me to give advice, etc. He was to the point and apparently knew what he wanted, no reason to argue with a person that knows what he's doing and what he wants.
