Default 60E issues....

So my old trans just went out. Put a rebuilt (stock specs) back in, due to funding. I have just bolt ons and a tune.

New trans works great, but few small issues. Just any opinions from the gurus. The 4-2 downshift, it will bounce off the limiter before it shifts, if you go wot. And also, between 60-70 only,if I let off the throttle it slows down about 3-5mph, and I press back down on it (slightly or a lil aggressive) it will rev up about 100-200rpm and then come back down. But only between 60-70mph.

Anything I can do to fix this? I know I need a 80e. Lol

4-2 downshifts kill 60e's every time. Sounds like yours already has a hurt band. Sounds like it's on borrowed time.

And no amount of tuning can correct an internal mechanical problem.

I don't make it a habit of it. If I need to, I just manually put it in 2nd.

That bouncing off the rev limiter is the band slipping.

Oh I know that. Just wasn't sure if it's a internal fix I can do by just pulling the pan, or needs to be rebuilt again. I can live without driving hard. But the OD thing is kinda annoying.

Definitely not putting my stall in then. Lol. Looks like I'll have to do a 80 swap sooner then.

The RPM jump when in OD sounds like something that could be fixed with a tune... but not the downshift.

Unless it's a slipping 3/4 clutch pack. Hard to say without driving & scanning it.

very true... just the way he described it dropping made it sound to me like its the TCC disengaging with no throttle, and then engaging again when he tips in.
