411 as a TCM?

If you set the system options matrix up like an 0411 running an L31, the tach signal in is much easier...then you need TPS and VSS...but since it's controlling the trans, VSS is a no-brainer. Yes you can do it. The only difficult thing will be the tach signal. Everything you might need some more wiring because you might need another coolant temp sensor, and a TPS sensor...I wouldn't parallel existing sensors to a second computer...could result in bad data.

I would ditch the factory pcm completely and just use the 0411 as a tcm.The early Cummins has nothing for electronics, I could easily do a cts but I'm not sure if the temperature is coolant or tranny temperatures.

It needs to see both.

CTS=Coolant Temp Sensor.

It reference Engine temp as well as the Transmission temp for shift tables and so on.

If 1 is missing, It will go into limp mode.
