EFI Live never did the COS with the 06 and 07 operating systems because they didn't see any money in it.

You can use an 03-05 EFI Live COS though, just have to swap the pedal and tach module.

hmmm.

I have heard there are response benefits to changing those parts in an 06 anyway... I will have to look into this.

The resolution is not an issue if you know how to tune a VE table properly. Make sure you filter your logged data so that you take meaningful numbers from as close to the actual cell values as possible, and do your best to make sure the tables are smooth.

My truck fuels correctly daily driving and at any boost level I've pushed it to with a 3-bar OS. If I didn't tune it myself I wouldn't know that, but I also wouldn't trust a tuner who says they can't make it fuel right. In my own truck as well as every other boosted P59 running a 3-bar that I've tuned I've always used HPTuners, and always been able to get them to always hit within probably 2-3% of my target AFR.

Good to know. I will be tackling this soon and seeing such horrible resolution in the tune made me nervous. What I think makes me most nervous is tuning with meth. I think the turn on point is going to be clunky... I will have a tough time pulling fuel out of it for the initial spray and I'm sure it will bog slightly due to that.

You will need to play with ramp and the gain to prevent this. Usually you can make it linear, with meth starting at 1/3 of your target boost level. Dig a hole in the VE and carry on.

More resolution will allow for a better model of airflow. 10 kpa increments does not seem ideal to me, but the trims can absorb most of the error. Look at the newer E38 and E67 coeffecient based VVE controllers and they are increments of 2-3 kpa on the pressure axis.

It would be pretty hard to manipulate the VE when you only have 10kpa increments to account for the meth. 2 cells would be roughly 3 psi which would make shaping the VE hard to prevent a bog down low.

My 2 cents only. I know it can be done.

Well it's all too late now. He tuned the truck on 2 bar. My little 4.8 made 564rwhp unlocked on 14.5psi. I should be happy but I'm not. I know it could have made 650-700 no problem.

The only issue I have with the 3bar tunes on those years is actually only the bottom end since they start at 30kpa which is higher than most deep decels. Part throttle with a small cam on decels can be fishy then.

If you are running a referenced fuel regulator the VE table should be relatively constant in the boost region as long as you arent running out of fuel pump so extra resolution wouldnt help you.
