Take the 170 amp version of the AD244, it's identical to the DR44, but has a replaceable bridge rectifier that is not built-in to the rear case like the DR44.

I've got a 200A that uses the same chassis as the 145, you just need to get a belt for a '05 w/145 alternator is all.

First off, welcome to the forums!

Second off, please don't revive old threads. Make a new thread for questions instead

Thirdly, the Vibe is a 2000w amp when bridged, and theoretically only- it's really only going to put out 1100w or so, especially if you're running those subs in series with parallel drivers.

Either way, 145A isn't going to keep the lights from dimming and power being sucked off the battery when you're thumping. The 145amp alt makes about 600w at idle, 1000w at 2000rpm and 1500w at 4000rpm.

All the OE style alternators will be coil-wound style fields (inefficient, cheap, easy to make). The high-end alternators use hairpin windings with heavy gauge wire (high efficiency, expensive, hard to make) and usually have custom cases. Think MechMan or QualityPowerAuto (I run a QPA Mega Amp 320, makes 2000w at idle LOL so I'm kind of partial to them).
