Would anyone one know the procedure to tell the dealer to turn the trans temp on in the cluster? My dealer is willing to do it they just don't know how?

did you swap to a cluster w/ the gauge? If so, it should be plug and play.

it's not a matter of programming, it's a matter of wiring. The pin is already hot, you just have to connect it.

I believe it is wired correctly, everyone I have talked to says the cluster needs to be programmed to turn on the trans temp gauge, some will already work and some won't,mine does not.,I was wanting to know the procedure using a tech 2 at the dealer to reflash to cluster.

Check your connections. All gmt-800 1500s are wired for the trans temp. It is plug and play, if your connections are correct.

I read that it works by just adding the stepper motor on some but not on others, they had to have them programmed.

If the cluster did not have the trans temp, it may have to be programmed with software from a VIN that had the trans temp in order to activate it.

Unfortunately the guys that know how to do it wont share the info.

If I had to guess I would say there using a VIN from an HD truck of the same year to program the cluster.
