This is seriously a f-cking joke. So they want to ban guns from elected officials? Well what happens if I live next to one? Will I be hauled off to jail or have to move? I have NEVER understood the reason for banning guns in places. If a criminal knows that guns arn't aloud somewhere then they know they have a free ticket to shoot whom ever they want with out the chance of getting shot. Government has really gotten out of hand.

They are also making it manditory for brake override systems.

**warning rant follows**
So government adds crap like this to cars which ultimately ups the cars selling price which makes new cars out of reach for people to purchase which shrinks the market share for said dealership which needs less people to operate efficency which leads to less jobs which leads to more people not buying things. On top of that installing more things in the cars that make them heavier which hurts mpg which causes the car company to make cheaper, smaller, crap cars that no one wants to drive just so the company can meet MPG standards set by the government. should I keep going? I can do this all day long.

All it should be is an instruction manual for morons. If vehicle does not stop accelerating/reduction in speed does not occur when you remove foot from accelerator, put vehicle in neutral and press brake. Steer to side of road and stop safely/completely, then turn ignition off. Call tow truck.

End of story, no brake over-ride "technology" needed, just plain old common-sense, but I forgot we stopped requiring that to obtain a drivers license years ago. Now we have to count on "technology" to keep morons from rear-ending us.

This brake override is going to make launching for street-driven vehicles much more difficult. Unless they want to throw a 2-step in with the brake override for us turbo guys, I would be okay with that

There's no such thing as common sense anymore because we let the weak survive. In the old days, if you didn't have common sense you wound up getting seriously hurt or killed, or didn't have money for food and died. Now everything has too many safeties, too many handouts, and too many government (read WE pay for them) programs out there to help them out. I can understand helping out to an extent, but there are people out there making a living off of government handouts, getting on unemployment for a year(+) when they were only previously employed for 6 months. Our government caters to idiots, and that's going to be our downfall, along with our continuously growing importation of goods instead of manufacturing our own stuff.

If this brake over-ride is controled by the computer... do you think we could get it tuned out?

I'm extremely against a few "improvements" that companies have made in the past. I'm not a fan of DBW, and I'm not a fan of of this brake over-ride.

I like the fact, that when I press on the accelerator, I'm manually moving that butterfly, after working on computers for as long as I have, the last thing I want is a computer being in charge of my throttle control. Some of this is probably caused by the horror stories I've heard about trucks going WOT and the driver's are standing on the brakes (Our sheriff's office F-150s all have done it).
