You have a building with 3 above ground floors, and a basement. 4 Floors total. On the 3 above ground floors there is one lightbulb on each floor, total 3 lightbulbs. You are in the basement, in the basement there are 3 light switches that control the 3 light bulbs. None of the light switches are marked for what floor. (each switch controls a light on each floor in no order) You cannot see anything on any of the above floors at all and have no help. You can go up the stairs to any floor and return to the basement only once. How do you determine which switch controls which floor.
Hopefully I didnt leave anything out... Its not a trick question.

go to the first floor, hit the switch.....go to third floor and flip that one....go to basement...call an electrician and wait for help

Turn one switch on (any floor)
Leave one off (any floor)
And on the third put a lot of extra voltage to it the bulb can't handle
then just determine which one isn't burned out and that's your three.
