Default what car is this? 1956 chevy ???

My dad and i spotted this sitting in a storage area with a flat tire, an oil slick under it, and a tow strap on the hood. We are looking to get rid of our Nova and build a new car and if i can find the owner i might persue this car. I can not id this thou, i know its a 56 based on the tail lights and the date code on the tail lights but a 56 what????? those are not painted black windows, its steel. I also noticed it has no support in the rear "window" area. The chrome doesn't match anything i can find, and the little lights on the side of the rear and front bumbers i noticed to. It could be custom work but i would still like an idea of what it is. A 1956 Handyman Station Wagon is all i can come up with, but that has the pillar in the a window.....and it has a window.

Thanks
Brad

I believe it is a sedan delivery. Somebody will know the exact code, but I think they are very cool.

I think the lights on the front and rear sides indicate that it was in California at some point in it's life.

sure looks to be a 56 sedan delivery. The 55's have full tail lights where as the 56's have the "bullet" kinda design in the picture. The nomad also has a angled pillar instead of the straight one this has. The nomad also has more chrome on the trunk? tailgate? what ever you want to call it.

in my searching it never came up with sedan delivery so i missed it...

Nomads have windows and are longer IIRC. Would ******* LOVE a 55-57 Nomad.

Hell yea! My mom and dad had a few Nomads back in the day, I remember seeing pics when I was younger. My dad had a 57 Vette that was his race car also...wish they still had those rides!
