50C, that's just Wow!

RJ, don't worry, you'll get your chance at some more snow soon. I too like change of seasons, but winter can be shorter.

I don't get the bicycle part. Where's the truck? Or bike is how u commute on campus?
I have a comment about the girls in spandex in cold, but it doesn't refer to their pants. (.)(.) Must take pics.

Stewy, a hurricane over 1" of snow anyday!

We sent everybody home at noon today, off tomorrow too. I am the lucky SOB that gets to stick around this weekend. At least I know what I'll be watching. It is bone chilling cold out there, you northern folks sure as hell have my respect. This cold weather sucks.

Bigred, what do u do that u sent everyone home @ noon? And yes, it's bone chilling cold out there, but today it was like 25-30 & I was thinkin it's warm out. Coat unzipped at times; even wasn't wearing my skully a few times.

I kinda did that to see how many Texans would pipe up. By same token, you southern folks have my respect, cause I can't handle that heat.No way, no how. I was about to post that, but u chimed in before I could edit. Plus, like I said, I was testing the waters.

So yes, I'm a sissy when it comes to 100* & up. Heck, I don't even like 85-90's, w/. humidity, cause that's exactly what we get in summer here, but not as much as you. I felt bad last yr., for all my Texan buddies that had to endure that streak of 100 degree days; wasn't it like almost 4 months?

Tom, I'm a marine engineer. A small group of us keep a ship ready to go down here in Houston. Our forecasts all called for the sleet and stuff to start around lunch and continue to get worse. So knowing how well all of us are at driving in this kind of stuff we just decided it would be in our best interest to send everybody home.

Hell we weren't doing anything anyway. Ha!
