Vacation Interary...

I don't have one...My fiance and I are headed to Peyton Colorado the end of this month to visit my sister and brother-in-law. What should we do? This is our first REAL vacation together and I'd like to make it a memerable one. Pikes Peak isn't very far away, but thats all I really know of. Any ideas?? I don't want to be too busy, want to relax alot but still want to get out and do some stuff. We will be driving there. Leaving on a tuesday night, driving for 5-6 hours getting a motel and then waking up early the next morning and finish out the rest of the 4-6 hour drive...Anywhere we should check on the drive up there...I think i'm going to go through New Mexic and then head north on I-25 i believe it is. I will be posting pictures along the way
I do have a couple things planned. My brother-n-law and I will be golfing at the air force academy and the peterson afb course...The academy has the nicest course I've ever played and the base's course is pretty nice too. Any of you guys around that area wanna whack a few ***** hit me up...He has a 2 handy-cap and I have a 6 so bring your A-game.
Thanks for any input guys

I am going up to Denver/Golden Colorado with my GF during the first of July for a week. Supposedly we are going to some back country 'special' spot with her dad, we have to travel by horse for half a day to get there. Anyways colorado is a blast if you like being outdoors. Last year we went to Estes Park (sp), it was alot of fun if you like camping and hiking.
Since your driving is Palo Duro TX on your way or close to it, it is like a miniture grand canyon.

My parents are thinking of getting some property in the Colorado Springs area, I went out to Colorado Springs and Pueblo last summer and had a blast. I'm not much for relaxing, I like to do as much as possible on vacation, but if you want to see some great scenery and wildlife, check out Garden of the Gods www.gardenofgods.com . Also Seven Falls is awesome www.sevenfalls.com , it's a bit of exercise but if you walk the trails at the top of the steps you can look out over all of Colorado Springs. Of course Pike's Peak is a must. Lake Pueblo State Park was cool too, it's interesting to see the dam setup and you can do quite a bit of hiking around various trails (watch for rattlesnakes).
