AWD is nice to have in a light pickup no matter where you're at. The wet weather is actually the best time to have AWD in a daily driver around here as our winters are not terrible most of the time. When it's wet out and you have to get moving quick AWD is nice.

what specifically do you have to have as far as package wise to get the V8 option? Ive tried about everyone I can think of on GMC.com and none show a V8 option

 

They took the V8 option off the build page for now. The V8 will only be offered in Extended and Crew cab trucks. 4wd is a definate and maybe a 2wd will be available.

This is all just going off of info found on the net and posted by people who seem to be close to the project.

THEY WILL ITS AN 08 OPTION... WILL BE AVAILABLE IN EX CAB OR CREW CAB VERSIONS... CAN ORDER THEM IN JANUARY WILL BE BEING BUILT STARTING IN FEBRUARY

 

January/February is how many months away...1....2....oh man I need to stop counting, that is already too many.

The problem is I have been ready to get rid of my current truck for a while now. The blower is off, the truck is slow and I want to move on. Then I hear news that FINALLY GM, after like 1000yrs or so it seems , is going to put a V8 in a compact pickup......who ever thought that would happen.
