Default Used Motors

Has anyone bought a motor from a salvage yard before? Reason I ask is i found this lq4 for $1300 with no accesoories, wiring, or ecm. Just the Long block. I was wondering if there could be any problems that might happen to the motor after being in a wreck, like internally? If you've bought a motor from a yard have you had any problems?

Thanks
Nick

Plenty have done it. Honestly though that price is nothing special. In fact I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for just a longblock lq4.

Wait around a while you can probably find a better deal. Just remember too that it wouldn't be terrible to ship an engine and if it's out of state you wouldn't have to pay tax.
