Default Truck undergoing major work today

about to go out back and change the oil. Wish me luck

I'll post back with dyno numbers after I get the fluids swapped tonight, and I'll work on stripping down the oil filter and getting the new one installed by friday. I've got all the special tools I might need.

Anyone want pics of the build?

I had a problem one time that no one could solve. I asked on the boards and a couple tech guys, but I had to call GM and speak to 3 different service guys before I got a good answer. Apparently an easier way to get the filter off is to jam a screw driver through the side of it He said it was standard procedure at most GM dealerships for "oil filter removal"

I'm about to head up to the dealer and try to get a dealer service manual for this thing in case I need anything

1. Remove baffles from inside valve covers
2. Remove PCV check valves from PCV lines
3. Hook PCV lines on both valve covers to manifold vacuum source
4. Drive until crankcase empty.
5. Refill with oil
6. Repeat steps 4-6
