Unhappy Truck disabled, need help identifying hose

Driving down the road just now, my truck turned off and the battery light came on. Coasted it into a parking lot. It would turn over but not start. I see this hose hanging down under the truck and don't know what it is. Fuel return line? I don't see where it connects so guessing that part off the hose fell off.

Need help guys

Hose is probably 3/4" OD and 1/4" ID. Doesn't really smell like anything and doesn't have an oily residue

Line looks like it runs from the engine bay to the back of the truck. Got disconnected right next to the transfer case.

Would that cause my truck to stall? I'm guessing no, so second question is what else could cause my truck to die like that? Has a half a tank of gas in it.

Truck started up again. Tried it a few times and nothing, gave it one last shot while waiting for the tow truck and it fired up and made it home.

But would still like input on what could cause it to die all of a sudden going 40mph down the road.

I agree thats the transmission vent hose and I think its unreleated to the current issue.

What fuel pump are you running? I'd favor a fuel pump issue at this point.

Sounds like a fuel pump, check your fuel pump relay first, then go from there.

The is absolutely the trans vent line. You dying problem is probably fuel pump going out. It could be a million other things. Too late now but you should have checked for pressure at the rail when you were a sitting duck.

Bummer, I'm on my third fuel pump. All of them stock flex fuel pumps. The second didnt last but a few months so amazon exchanged it for a new one. With the two bad pumps, it would sometimes die with anything less than 1/4 tank, but was fine if I kept it above there. I was at over half a tank last night.

So crank sensor could also be the problem?
