She gave the HHR the axe she said it looks too much like a pt cruiser and she HATES those so its looking like cobalt ss it is. Which is good for me since I really do like the car and there is a lot of aftermarket support for them. Now the trick is finding one within driving distance, the closest Ive found one is almost 400 miles away, and the nearest black one(only color vehicle she'll own) is almost a 1000 miles away

It wont be so bad as far as money is concerned, thank god Ive recently paid off 90% of my debt and I no longer have a truck payment so I should be fine and she makes decent money so I think we'll be alright.

Personally i would get a 4-door honda accord. Excellent cars, that is what my wife drives (well 2-door)... You can't beat a honda for comfort, power (actually pretty quick), reliability, etc...

Im open to other suggestions too, we're not really looking to spend more than 20K since she'll be getting a new vehicle in 2-3 years.
For the price, u won't beat a Cobalt SS. The mags say how it matches cars priced way more than it. No, I'm not comparing it to a Ferrari, but it's a lil beast.

22/30 MPG from GM sticker. That's why I want 1. I drove a S/C SS that had 205 HP, & thought the computer needed hackin to unlock some power. Get a tune & it woulda been better, I forgot if was the lower RPM range or upper. Once outside that range, it ran nicely.

The turbo Cobalt SS vers. has 260 HP. The HHR SS the same, but is like 19/27 or some crap like that. It doesn't look as nice either.

It's GM's budget car. You take that chance w/. any vehicle, but esp. an econobox from anyone.

RJ, the G8 isn't exactly compact. G/L findin 1 too.

Amazing. I think u made the right choice. If I get a house & get rid of my older truck, I eventually see a T/C Cobalt S/S in my future. I plan for it to be my next vehicle. And I don't even like cars for the most part.

I can find so many Cobalt S/S it's not funny, in my area. Plus, since u want 4dr, it'll be better for insurance.

There are plenty of used 09 ss's for high teens, and thats just the asking price. With a tune guys are getting mid 30s in them on the highway running 70 which is exactly what we need.

The G8 is out because I know Ill play with it and have full exhaust and a cam in it within the first month so I know better than to get that one. Atleast with the cobalt its going to take a little while for me to learn what to do with it so itll at least have a couple months before I start messing with it

Phantom is DD.
