one of my buddies is selling his R6. But he wants like 8k for it, and I was gonna offer him $6500 or $7000.

Ill be bored with it by the end of the summer, I really dont know what it has been through, better chance of something going wrong with it, no warranty, and I have to finance through my bank. Which means Im gonna pay $300 a month to have an "extra vehicle". I already pay $400 for my truck and I can afford to pay $130 or $160 for a bike, not $300.

I know my business and the costs involved. I have everything taken care of, but I do understand what your saying

Im not rushing into it by any means, Ive been seriously wanting one for a year and now that I make enough money to afford one, Im a little more serious.

Yeah, it is a 12k bike OTD. But I might get him down to $11k if I can. And its
not like Im paying that up front, thats why I'd finance Help build my credit even more.

Either way, you need insurance, you wreck, which is a good possibility, you are out 12K and no bike. I got my 01 F4i for 4K with 2K worth of mods so, dont buy your buddies bike and shop around. I realize you are stuck on new but I dont understand why your payment would be so high. My payment is 140 a month for only 3 years I could of gotten longer but wanted to pay it off faster and pay less interest. The choice is yours but used is the best way IMO someone has already taken the new depreciation value hit for you. Just think as soon as you pull off the lot your first years payments are going to go towards paying for the depreciation of driving it off the lot, same with cars, it sucks and you wont catch me doing it

Take all the body work off for the summer, it will be ugly but tipping it over will cost allot less. You end up with a $500.00 dollar deductible minimum anyways, so you may as well cover your *** some. Just my 2 pennies.

Jack, I forgot what side of H-town you are on. Which dealership you going to? Or is it a private sale.

FWIW, I got my 02 brand new out of the crate in Jan 2004. Does that make sense, no. I found it at Adventure Yamaha and Marine in Katy. It was Hurst at that time. Poorly organized owners had old stock that they were trying to move and I got a hell of a deal. Price of a 1.5 year old R1 brand new with a warranty.

I'm in clear lake, but the bike is being privately sold in Austin. I'd like to get new, but I haven't ridden in years, and I know I'm going to drop it so I figure used is the best way to go.

btw, niice deal. wish I'd stumble in on one of those.

Well, I think I am going to go tomorrow and see if they will finance me...

My choice is the gixxer 1000.

Does $11,950.00 OTD sound like a good deal or should I hagle them some more?

The color behind the seat, on the sides, is damn near Identical to my truck. There is more of it on there, but I cant see it in the pic.

The headlight kinda reminds me of a vagina though.
