Just in case you were ever curious, they are one of the worst companies (owned by Tyco Inc) in the world. That's all basically. Just want it out in public, I am a Simplex Grinnell hater.

NAh, nothing too much, I was instant messaging some whack ****** i talk to during the afternoon (seems to get earlier and earlier each day) and I showed him an email that I sent to one of our contractors about a porject that would take forever to get fire alarm approved on due to the supplier Simplex. He was making fun of me, "We got it...you hate SImplex". So I posted this thread just to be sure he (the dude that apparently works part time) understood..I hate Simplex. For 16 strobes and 2 smoke detectors plus making a submittal (copies of premade specifications) they are charging me $5,680 bucks. What a f-ing rip off. Our normal supplier charges $1,500 for the same job size and has submittals ready in 2 days. Just venting and semi joke. **** Simplex is serious though.

 

I worked for a company owned by Tyco (Simplex Wire & Cable) for over 10years before getting layed off. Ya, Tyco sucks.

 

Sounds like this dude you talk to works part time, I want a job like that.
