Default Should I Lower It?

Ok, so I've recently been working on my truck and now I'm at the part where I don't know if I should lower (not slam it) it or not. I'm really considering lowering it closer towards the Chevrolet Silverado SS height. There's a bunch of "offroaders" here that all have their trucks raised and I definately do not want to be put into that category with them.

I want the truck to be able to do decent 1/4 mile times and be able to run it at the local track (Road Atlanta). *EDIT* Thought lowering it would help improve stability.

Please give me your opinions.

is it a 2wd or 4x4?

no matter what it is, it needs a 2" drop in the rear, minimum

It's the Z71 version...

And, like I said... I don't really want to slam it.. Too many of those around here too.

just because its a z71, doesnt mean you cant lower it you just have to think about it a little more

you have a lift block in the rear, take it out and go to the dealer and get some 2wd ubolts and put them on and that will net you a 2" drop in the rear, which i think is what you are looking for. if you want more after that you can get another 2" front and rear with shackles and spindles

I did a 3/4 drop on my Z71. Shackles and hangars in the rear, spindles up front with a little de-twist of the torsions. I am just slightly lower than a stock 2wd.
