Default shifts

My buddy just bought his 95 silverado back from a buddy and when he sold the truck the truck shifted really smooth. But riding in the truck on the way to Port Allen he told me that i might want to wear a neck brace and then showed me why. The truck was feeling like it wasn't shifting and was waiting to it got to a certain rpm then shifted really hard. It only does this when shifting from first to second after that truck shifts really smooth. Any idea on why the truck is shifting so hard? I think its a shift kit but Ive never rode in a truck with one.

Sounds like somebody has went inside the transmisison.

1-2 at part throttle took more rpms than normal till it shifted? and shifted hard?
possibly a shift kit with a washer or two in the accumulator or a billet servo that slaps hard.

Yeah that was my two guess. I was just surprised how easy it shifted after first second gear.

Mine will snap your neck above the stock converters stall speed, but below full throttle. Vette servo and high line pressure in my tune..

Mines the same in my other truck. It has a billet servo and shift kit and will chirp the tires at part throttle, shifts to hard for my liking.
