Well my mustang that i have had since i was 16 got hauled off today for scrap... It was just toooo far gone with rust to try and repair. I am a pretty good sheet metal guy but this was just tooo much.
Here it was in its prime

I bought the car when i was 16 and fully restored it by myself, pre internet days, soooooo lots of reading in magazines and books... I worked in a body shop part time to learn how to paint... The car saw 4 engines, 2 trannies, 2 rear ends while i had it.. Basically it was my starting point for my automotive hobby...
Here is a few before and after shots...

Then i was gonna try and build it up as a race car... This is as far as i got before i called it quits....

Here it is being hauled away

Damn good job on the restoration! It seems everyone is so busy these days, they sorta have to pick one hobby and stick with it. I vote keep the truck, and stick with it! You seem to do really good work on everything, and contribute some valuable information to the forum!

Yep lots of memories
. I had my first date in that car. First speeding ticket. That car got me through high school and 7 years of college. Picked up tons of girls in it. Never had sex in it thou. Annoying at the time but always got questions about it where ever i stopped. That car was with me for 17 years.
I was rather said to see it go but i can always pick up another or do another restoration. I might try and talk my father out of his 55 2 door belair that has been sitting at his house or my sisters 65 mustang fastback that has also been sitting.
Only good news about all of it is that i have alot of spare room now in my 3 car garage.

ouch bro, I didnt know you had it long. I started to ask when you texted me earlier.... I always said I would keep my truck forever, and recently have had thoughts of parting it out.

A new project will rejuvenate ya. I vote the 55 ! ( but im partial as we have 2 of them) They are money in the bank.
