If Your Going For Looks I Would Have Them Plated Not Coated Plating Is Much Nicer Looking And You Can Get Any Color You Want Its Really Awesome My Father In Law Owns A Machine Shop They Build Bmx Parts There If Anyones Into It Its Snap Bmx But Why I Bring This Up Is Im Around Powder Coating And Plating All The Time And Hands Down Plating Wins...but For The Real Answer To Your Question Is Call The Powder Coater And He'll Tell You For Sure What Structurally Would Change In The Part... Or At Least He Should Be Able To.

Remember it will get baked...so anything that will melt. I would be slightly concerned about your cylinder bore defroming out of round....
