yes thats in sheet rock Danny Dozerdan works for USG they mine alot of gyp for sheet rock.. hes taken me out where they mine it..that place is pretty damn interesting as well.. also see the white in this pic... alot of the ground is like that in this area ..just white dirt all this here is

according to my guide.
countys listed are, Mc Curtain, Johnston, Cotton, Lincoln, Alfalfa, and Klowa
areas are known for Quartz, Barite Roses, Jasper, Agate, petrified wood, Selenite.

Jackson county, is known for old abanden Spanish Gold Mines.
search the area of Devil Canyon, ten miles north of Altus, recomended metal detector.

some of my pics with rock mountains..like a hump..thats north of altus..interesting find..im going to have to check that out..thanks

i would still like to sample that creek.
it may not have enough to start a mining location, but for the weekend prospector with a dreadge, i would be happy with a few grams labled oklahoma on my bottle.

That stuff is pretty cool, i dont have any big peices but one time when i went to havasupai(part of grand canyon, big waterfalls) a group hiked into an abandoned mine, and the walls had veins of the stuff all over. I guess they were searching for gold but never found anything

in that pic that river is the south canadian river in custer county north of Thomas Oklahoma..ive seen this same strecth of river dry..
