called for a hub bearing on my 2wd SS. they always want the vin. i give the vin they go oh its a SS i see.

536 a piece.

i said well i need a price on one for a 2005 silverado, no vin. he goes look man i cant quote it without a vin. i said well that hub is the sme exact thing. can you just cross ref the part.... oh no i cant do that. your hub for the ss list special its prob better bearings and bigger to handle the power..

then i call for ac moduel since i have digital... 140 something. my buddy got ac delco part for 70 bucks.

6 dollars per flexplate bolt

18 dollars for red o ring on oil pump.. when its 5 online.

i got pissed one day and told them over the years they have lot well over a 1000 dollars from me because of the prices. they said they cant help it.

i go in with my buddys shop name now and everything is half the price i listed, and you know they still make money.

by the way the normal hub bearing ended up being 340 from them and it cross ref'd

By charging $35 for a bag of o-rings, that's how.

When u only need 1 or 2 of a part, it hurts. Plus, it seems so wasteful if remaining amount of a given part are never used. Really drives that cost per unit up.

Insane. What'll really **** ya off, I could get LS7 lifters (all of em) for < $175 + shpg. U also suffer from the CANADA tax. :patriot:

I figured the hub to be ~$300-340, so that seems bout right. Not $526. Ugh!!!

Red oil pump o-ring price seems way high. And yes, they make $ even at your new cost.

Even list price on some of our parts are 100-120% over cost. Then you have retail Which will sometimes exceed 200% mark-up.... Its gotten to where I feel had sometimes quoting these things for customers. I don't see how people afford parts like that then pay $100+/hr for the labor.... Ouch....

I told the guy he was crazy, and he says it cost $10 for the key and gm charges $47 to give them the key code... I didn't buy the Damn key, I got it open myself... ****** highway robbery

$147 for an oil change "kit" from the can-am dealership. Includes 1 oil filter, 1 drain plug washer, and 3 quarts of synthetic oil...

Cross ref'd the filter, bought some amsoil, and reused the dpw ... cost me $28...

$400...40k service on a vw tdi golf. Another $400 for the dsg trans service which isn't included in the regular service, but needs to be done at the same mileage interval. The only thing changed in the service is motor oil, and brake fluid. Everything else is "checks" for leaks, Cv boots, and brake pad wear... oh I almost forgot they check the airbags and windshield washer fluid level... lmao

That price isn't too bad for not having the key with you. A copy is about $3 at hardware store though.
