Damn bro! Glad to see it wasn't too bad. I hardly ever wear safety goggles unless I'm using the angle grinder or cut-off wheel but I think i'll start.

try covering one of your eyes, and then judge distances between you and the other vehicle in front of you..
I probably pissed a bunch of folks off this morning, but I wasnt going to follow to close to anybody..

damn lucky IMO. dosent it seem like you always get hurt or screw up something when your working on someone elses crap.

i have a scar ON my eye that the eye doctor asks about every 6 months. weedeating without glasses and got smacked in the eye with a root. i got lucky and still have 20/20 vision. im a jackass though and still mow 25-30 lawns per week without eye protection

this is a good reminder to wear

Glad to "see" your okay!!! It's a common thing, most safety rules (especially in the military) are written in blood.
I know this smiley is for something else...but it's kinda of funny for this thread!!
I had eye muscle surgery for exotropia of my left eye. (If you can tell me what that is, you win a cookie.) What they did was detach my eye from the muscle and stich it back in place with 'non-dissolving' stiches. I had both eyes done at the same time. I had to keep my eyes CLOSED for 3 days after the surgery. It seems like the whole 3 days I kept wiping blood from my eyes. I didn't know it was there, but those who were taking care of me said so, so I believed them. Anyways .. it wasn't fun!

I was told not to turn my eyes to far angles for the next 6 months. For the next 3 months my eye muscles were somewhat sore. Something you do that probably no one else realizes is when you go to turn your head, you lead with your eyes. For instance, you turn your head to the left, your eyes turn left before your head does. I learned this and broke myself of this because of the extreme pain.

I know the feeling buddy. When we all meet up at the SBSO, I was 3 days into my eye treatment from the 2nd eye digging procedure.

My 2nd time around I was actually wearing eye protection. I too thought about getting some goggles at this time.

Sorry to see, but glad your eye will recover. Definitely a close one and thanks for the reminder to wear our glasses.
