The way I read the older law (different post than what glock linked) was that it was a citable offense but not a first offense and therefore not PC to pull someone over based solely on having no front plate. So say they pulled you over for a tag being out of date and noticed you had no front plate, they could ticket for it then, but not use it as the main reason for pulling you over. Then when it changed for 2013 and I read the deal about September starting no front plate being needed I just kinda laughed a bit because since I bought my SSS back in early 2009 I have never had a front plate on it and never been ticketed or stopped for it, and I've been stopped my fair share of times in that truck lol.

I always kept mine on as it was an unwanted reason to get pulled over. Even if you are perfectly legal, it can be a PITA to get pulled over. I already pulled it and bought spikes to fill the holes in the bumper.
