Well taking price into consideration and after a direct side by side comparison of a 1080p and a 720p playing what I will be watching most othe time I opted just to get a 720p. It is the Panasonic TH-50PX77U which has the Anti-glare screen. I'm very happy with it as it is 1000 time better than what I had. The DVD player I got is a Sony DVP-NC85H to replace my Panasonic DVD-F65 which made me mad when it didn't want to play one of my burned disks.

I'm ready to watch some football now! Only bad thing is I can't get the ESPN channels for free.

I agree for the price difference the picture quality just wasnt there. Mine is for the bedroom anyway, I have a 56" in the living room but its the old school rear projection 480p Next year Im picking up a Pioneer 60" 1080p when they come down a bit. For the same size tv that I got but in 1080p would have been over 2K and I couldnt justify the money for the difference in picture. Watching football on espnHD is awesome I got mine when I did for football season too, I was going to wait till tax return time but they had a sale and I would be able to use it durign football season so it was an easy choice

That's ok I don't need the internet on my remote and I like having real buttons... Curious though, what is the model number on you vaio? Or do you have a link to what it is? It's not one of those $1500-2000 pocket PC jobbers is it?

Lasik went well. I can still read the computer.. My eye are still a little dry but nothing uncomfortable or unexpected and it is getting better. Here is the lasik story incase you missed it. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...7&page=1&pp=10
