Jim are you TIG'ing everything now? I know for a while you were MIG'ing everything but your latest work looks to be stainless and TIG'ed. If so are you filling the headers with gas to help with penetration?

nice ride man , its hard to keep something stock huh?

btw , i doubt he fills them with gas. they arent structural(sp) so i wouldnt see any need to make sure the weld is really strong. not to mention with the thin walled stuff used in exhaust , penetration isnt usually an issue.

i dont have the tig process down. i need to take some classes if i want to learn to do it right. i can't do aluminum at all other than a nasty looking tach.

for the thinwall stuff i just fuse it together with the tig. no filler. no back gas. for the thick stuff where there are expansion and contraction forces at work and where it is holding up the turbo i put a little more thought into it. i make sure there is a v bevel fill area. then lay some fill with the mig and burn it in pretty with the tig. cheezy i know but it seems to work.

things are starting to happen. turbos on the way. wg's and bov on the way. intercooler on the way. tubing, silicone, transitions, 90's, flanges all on the way.

car is in the garage and i measured up for the intercooler. had to take out the windshild washer res and with that gone there is quite a bit of room up there and it looks like no metal cutting.

did you hear me, car is in the garage. i am all smiles. not much for pics since i have no parts and haven't done much other than rip off the front end and take some measurements.

after spending a few hours on the web and looking at the front of the car it looks to be the best fitting premade unit.

yep, squirt. well in this case and ems pro but that is based on a squirt but loaded up with features. i am getting a good deal on one. for starters i am thinking 2 or 4 injectors in the charge pipe spraying meth. ems pro controling boost, meth fuel pump, meth injectors.

stock fuel pump/injectors are suppose to be good to 425rwhp. with the meth set up i would feel pretty good going to 600rwhp. eventualy if i want to push it higher than 600rwhp i would like to get one meth injector at each port. might have to swap to a metal intake for that.
