The steel is much harder, so it will hold a hair popping edge much longer. Aesthetically it looks amazing (to me at least) and I like carrying it and showing it to others. It's a limited edition so it has exclusivity, and I like carrying something higher quality than most. Just like some people are with watches (John) or others with cars.
Can your $50 Kershaw do most of what this knife can do? Probably, it's only a knife after all. But I promise you it doesn't feel the same in your hand if you were to compare them. Most people probably don't care about that, and really I never have either. But since I've been buying higher priced knives lately, it's becoming an expensive habit wanting nicer things. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your Kershaw, they make amazing knives. Kershaw (KAI) actually produces Zero Tolerance (my new knife), and I have always loved every Kershaw I've owned.

Understandable, I guess knives just arent my passion and I wear a cheapo casio gshock watch every day lol. Bout the only thing I really collect is guns but thats by proxy since I dont have the money to buy them. I just tell my dad what he should get next and usually he does. He just got the new bone collector edition smith and wesson 500, next deer season Ill get me one with it. Its accurate with iron sights on out to about 200yds

I definitely wouldnt call myself big by any means(6' 160#s) but its not bad. you better be paying attention though or it will get your attention
The barrel is 12 or 13" I believe and it weighs a pretty good amount or it weighs 13#s, idk but its not bad eithber way and pretty damn accurate. I love the hell out of it and it gets a LOT of attention at the gun range. And dont fire it under the roof of the firing line, the percussion will kick you *** from the muzzle break.

I have 3 Kershaws (Whirlwind, Chive, Groove Tanto) and they're all awesome. Keep the Chive on my keychain, Whirlwind in my toolbox and the Tanto is my everyday carry. They get beat up and misused but still keep the bad *** edge.

you can always take classes man. go to your local reputable gun runge, not only will they have handgun and active shooting classes, but they will more than like have business cards to other places that teach in hand to hand dissarming and such.
