My "I changed My G/F's oil" rant.....

I run Castrol in EVERYTHING I own, I run 10-40 blend in the truck, Castrol in both my bikes, hell, even my lawnmower... I just thought it was ironic it said "Sludge protection" on the bottle when I turned it upside down in the funnel to pour it in LOL... but that had nothing to do with why I bought it...

At least your story had a good ending.... Personally I use Valvoline in my DD vehicles cause it is the clearest out of the bottle, basically no other reason than that. On my Mustang I used to use Kendall GT-1 20W50...
My GF gets her oil changed every two months whether it has 1000 miles or 3000 miles, she has it written done in her calendar, I tried to tell her to just change it every 3000 miles but she said it was easier to do by time frame.... She won't let me change it for her cause she says I have to many projects in work to mess with her car.

how many miles is on the 2006? If its still under warranty i would take it in for the "noise". because even though you cleaned out the gunk dont mean its fixed. i would say the bearings are worn pretty bad. Thats a female for you.
I know a guy that tunes and he got a call from a chick in a tbss that he tuned and she said it was messed up. well he went over his tune to make sure it wasn't his fault. come to find out that when she got her oil changed she only had enough money for 3 quarts of oil and a filter and was going to wait until payday to get the other 3. the pump sucked the pan dry and the motor is toast.

So she bought the TBSS, was knowledgeable enough to get it tuned but skimped out changing her oil the right way? LOL man woman are so jacked up in the head.

and yess, ive torn down a motor that ran only castrol. my 89 chevy suburban 350. when i rebuilt it, i ran only kendall gt-1, and when i tore it down again, the engine was in much better shape.
ive also torn down more motors that you've probably worked on, so please dont try to underestimate me.
and silver mod- what kind of bike? if the oil lubricates both the motor and the tranny, like with almost all dirtbikes, and most metric bikes, you can be causing some pretty harsh cluthch slippage and not even know it.
