i put the 400 on the DA and blew right through the primer lol. lesson learned. it did have a hard line that wouldn't budge. i sanded all of the primer away and started over and primed with no tape. fortunately, it doesn't have to be perfect. I plan to plastidip the entire truck.

Even though its going to be plasti dip, it will still show the defects underneath.

good enough makes me happy. it's a weekend warrior, not a show truck. it already looks better than 95% of the beat up dime trucks I see on the road. if I make it look too nice, i'll be upset if it gets a scratch LOL. thanks for the advice on primer application and backtaping, or no tape. I sanded off the primer and sprayed with no tape and can tell that it will be a lot easier to feather now.

No problem!

Your probably like me in that you need to learn what technique to use for each process. So I won't spoil it for you....

If you have any questions feel free to post up.

Oh and with a DA or any other Air tool, Don't force it. Let the tool do the work for you. Use the appropriate grit sandpaper for the task you are trying to accomplish.

what grit paper should I block and feather my current primer? this **** is thick! lol

any tips that you can give to get a better finished product helps. I literally just followed the instructions on the back of the bondo filler. no other research or reading other than that. welding a hole and grinding it flat was pretty straight forward.
