Default Morning fun on the commute home...input welcome

Alright, this happened on my way home from work this morning. Don't know if I'll be dealing with this in the near future. Let me know if I should blow this off and add another thing to "List of Stupid **** to not Do". Or if I should start getting my ducks in a row to deal with this ****.

All started after crossing Genoa Redbluff, on the S Beltway feeder, heading towards I-45.

Driving along in the left lane, getting in line to merge onto the beltway from the feeder. Coming up pretty fast behind me is a newish ('07-10?) mustang. It had foglights, I figured it was a GT. Well as Im getting close to the entrance ramp, the mustang's headlights disappear. As in, riding my ***. He crosses the double white line into the entrance ramp. I have to cut him off to enter the beltway. Coming off the entrance ramp, I punch it b/c this ******* is going to make me slow down behind traffic ahead if I don't. I move to the middle lane, doing ~85 mph. He's passing me, there is a car ahead of me and I don't want to swerve infront of him, so I let off. After he goes by, I move over to the left lane.

Well, Im coming up on the exit to 45 south, my exit. So I say, "**** it", floor it and move over to the right (exit ramp is on the far right of the freeway). Before I get to the ramp, Im hitting my limiter. I don't want to say how fast b/c I don't know if Im going to get in trouble for this ****...lol. The mustang ends up taking the same exit I am. I pass him before taking the lane towards 45 South.

I let off the pedal b/c of the curve. This guy is right on my *** as we take the curve to 45. Then I see a flashlight coming through the windshield. I'm like wtf? As we are coming down the ramp, I move over to the right b/c I need the Ellington Field exit. He gets beside me. I look over, again the ******* light in my eyes, blinding me. After the third blast of light, my eyes adjust and I can see its a goddamn cop.

At first, I admit, seeing it was a cop scared me. Then I got a little pissed. I have no idea what he wanted me to do. I was driving fast, yes. It was ******* dumb, yes. He pulled 3, maybe 4 ricer moves in less than a mile. He's got a badge, I don't. But his plates didnt say exempt. It was a civilian ride. Why is it ok for him to drive reckless, possibly endangering lives? I already know the answer, the double standard still pisses me off.

So, I kept driving towards the exit. After the flashlight thing once more, he swerves over a couple more lanes. He turns on his dome light, I can see him using his phone (dialing or texting). I have no idea if he got my plates (probably did tho). I figure he was calling it in. Really have no idea.

What do y'all think? Am I going to get a knock on the front door? I already plan on driving slow for a while. My truck is a stock '08 tundra dbl cab 5.7li. No exhaust, even rolling factory steelies. I don't really stick out in a crowd. (Don't give me too much ****, I have an '03 silverado rcsb too)

If it makes you feel good, go ahead and tell me how dumb/stupid/reckless my actions were. I already agree. Really interested in what you think, as far as if I have to worry about this biting me in the *** later.

Thanks for reading the novel...

i doubt your going to get into any trouble, sounds like the "dude" with a badge was probably on his way home from a village people party, and he was trying to get a better look at your face so he had something to whack-off too when he got home

he aint got **** on you if he was driving like an ***. he was in a personal vehical, not going to or responding to an emergency, so he legally has to follow all rules like you do.

Tell him to prove you were driving like that. It's his word against yours. Besides, you could always claim you were trying to get away from him because you thought he had a gun (claim you didn't know what he had in his hand) or if he was an imposter cop. Tell them you've seen things on the news with wacko's dressed as cops killing people. Be creative. He doesn't have **** on you

Very similar thing happened to me in Northwest Houston but the cop was driving a Silvy SS. They like to do that flashlight stuff to people, which is INCREDIBLY dangerous. My Dad got flashed in the eyes while driving on the road past a car crash by a cop standing in the road; he's not even sure why he moved over 2 lanes to leave a clear one next to the crash, like you're supposed to.

What a load of crap man, being a cop doesn't make someone exempt from driving recklessly, and that flashlight move is just downright dangerous. I like Joe's suggestion, if it ever came back to you, say that you were trying to flee because you thought the guy was an axe murderer and you couln't pick up your phone to dial 911 since you were too busy performing evasive maneuvers.

I'm not gonna say your actions were dumb / stupid / reckless. His were worse. Forget about a double standard. He tailgated, x'd the double white lines, was speeding, & at his speed (it's probably reckless as well). I'd love to hear if u ever get a knock on the front door, doubtful.

He prolly just turned on dome & acted like he was makin a call to intimidate. Is texting on phone illegal there or do u need hands free on cell? Chalk that up if so.

You'll have no problem goin slow in a Tundra.
I pull ya over from runnin stock exhaust. Or for drivin a Tundra. :nunchuk1:
How can u not stick out in a crowd? Those things are dog ugly, w/. their smushed up mouth of a frontend. Sorry, I had to.

Seriously, I doubt anything will come of it.

We all know that cops follow the rules, in their personal rides & in squad cars. :nunchuk1:

Lol. When I noticed he was driving w/o pants on, that should've told me something.

Yeah, that's why it pissed me off. I understand the need for these guys. I try hard not to hate them. This kinda **** makes it real hard.

Haha, yeah I was hoping that tidbit was going to get glossed over. Thats where the '03 comes into play. It should be blowing some doors off here in a few weeks. Finally got all my mods together, now I just need to move it all to my friends house.

I appreciate all the responses. Glad for the re-assurance. I was so worked up from all that, I had to drink a few beers in order to get some sleep. Just had the little voice in my head telling me how these guys can do what they want to do, when they want to do it.

Yep. But I don't think it'll happen here. Unless someone saw it go down & things progressed to that point, it's his word against yours. They usu. win in that instance, at least in 1 instance for me.
