I was close by at the Big Tex Pawn shop, they had a off duty there and he got a call and told his wife we gotta go around 1-2pm or so, then I heard all the sirens go by. I dont condone the shootout or anything, but with the times being reported and the actual times things played out it almost seems like something is being covered up????

Its not an opinion, just logical deduction. Let me explain, the situation began around or before 1-2pm friday not 4pm friday as reported by the authorities and journalists. There is a longstanding fued between this guy and the police. With listening to a detective in midland today at a gunshop, someone went there to repo his trailer with the cops, not to check a well. There were 2 on duty officers with the guy and all the guy was doing was checking an oil well? After the shooting the guys co worker shows up? My point is everything is not adding up. One thing I have learned, if there is a confrontation between the police and a citizen, the police do not back down. If there was a heated confrontation, how could Bedrick hear less than three words from him before the shooting. The Sheriff has/had a grudge for this guy and trys to sugar coat it. Things just dont add up to me as to how it was reported as a random act of violence commited by some lunatic.



The standoff began after 4 p.m. Friday after Bedrick, who works for an oil company, went to White’s property with Tijerina and a co-worker to access an oil well on White’s property, Bedrick said. Bedrick said his company owns the mineral rights to the land.

“When they approached him, at some point, there was a confrontation,” Donaldson said. “They started to leave and (White) pulled the gun and started shooting, hit my deputy three times and hit the citizen one time.”

“I didn’t hear three words from the guy before he started shooting,” Bedrick said at his home Saturday evening. Bedrick said his co-worker was not injured. He said McNeill arrived after the initial shooting.

Donaldson said that at some point White stole a deputy’s vehicle and radio. White then used the stolen radio to taunt law enforcement officials and deride Donaldson. White, who friends said has a long history of resentment toward Donaldson, could be heard over a police scanner calling the sheriff a traitor and saying, “Mr. Donaldson, the wrath of the public is coming.”

“He told me he was going to put a bullet in my head between my eyes,” Donaldson said, adding he heard bullets “whizzing by my ear.”

Pressed about his past with White, Donaldson said: “We’ve had different things with Mr. White and other people about his feelings about the way he thinks things should be.”

The sheriff said he could not recall any specific incidents that would have caused any resentment between the two men. “The only past we’ve had is what we’ve dealt with here years ago,” Donaldson said.

Friends and acquaintances said White has long sympathized with the Republic of Texas movement. The Vietnam War veteran — who rarely left his home and lived without electricity — flew an American flag upside down on his property.

“He’s a man that stands up for his rights. He doesn’t take any horse crap from nobody,” said Ken Nelson, a friend of White’s for more than 15 years. “They’ve been trying to get him off of his property for some time.”

 

It's your opinion something is being covered up.

I'm not going to argue about it, though. In my experience once people have their mind made up that law enforcement is up to no good/covering something up they tend not to change it.

lol, they guy obviously had issues, provoked or not, he doesnt have enough self control to keep from shooting people who werent doing anything to harm him. if he was defending himself, thats different, but i honestly have never heard of a reason for someone to feel a police officer was trying to cause harm to them and to defend themselves violently. just imo. granted, there are tons of dbag cops out there, but for the most part i have great respect for the men and women who do the job where everyone gives them **** and they have to deal with the lowest of life forms. my hat is off.
