I'm curious as to how long the LFA will be hanging around our place before it gets leased, or sent to the regional office, or whatever happens to it.
I usu. know more than salepeople at a stealership, most any, unless they're an enthusiast, then they might have a better idea.

This isn't just true of car dlrs., but lots of products. I might not know everything bout what I'm goin to look at, but I'll know enuff to be informed (those are the most satisfied customers I'd think, cause u do (did) your R & D. Less chance of a surprise.

Unless consumer buys Yota w/. accel or brake issues. Lil whoopsee there.

50 Nurburgring Ed.'s, there, now you're up to speed.

I'll tell ya, it's goin to regional. After they let u go cause u have no *****, broken down too many times, a walkin wreck,... too much?!?

your boss is gonna be drivin it cause now they're not payin your salary.

But I hope that doesn't happen to you.

Ka sara sara...whatever will be will be, we'll see in a few weeks I guess.

As for salesmen and product knowledge...please. Like you said, unless they're enthusiasts, they usually know as little as necessary. I've overheard some massive misinformation flowing from the tongues of these tools

I believe that the first run of 2011's is about 500 vehicles, not sure what's planned for 2012, or how many years they plan to produce them. I believe that they're supposed to have a short production run, but I'm not sure...guess it all depends on how many units we can move. I'd think that it would be bad timing for this kind of vehicle, considering the economy, but it seems like the folks who can afford this **** don't feel the same recession crunch that the rest of us poor workin folk do
there are only 500 period.. over the next 5 years they will be released all carrying a 2011 production date... after the 500th is sold the line dies off.. there will be no more period.. and most dealerships will not let ur average service tech work on them.. they will go to the shop foreman and the will work on the car being that he has the highest position in the shop and will be "less" of a risk to go out and flaug the **** out of it... i know i would....

and just FYI... this engine combo will be in another car soon but will not carry the Lexus badge........ we(toyota) own parts or all of alot of diff automotive groups... we will be building IIRC a car for maserati off the scion iQ , will be coming out with a cross over from the new ae86 consept with subaru, 2 eletric cars for tesla and 1 sports car from them.... and also own alot of yamaha.... the designed/built the heads on the celica gts and 1 other car..i also think the had there hands in the heads for the IS-F and LF-A.. i know the designed the exhaust for both

BTW 11 years for toyota and 2 years for lexus now.. both master tech status

yep, we already have one of the first Tesla sports cars. it's a fun ride. you would never expect a fully electric car to move that good! it feels even faster because of the fact that theres no engine noise. and for those who dont know, there's talke of a collaboration between Toyota and Ford to put a great hybrid system into trucks and SUV's...

ES (for now should be coming out soon) gx and the lx... everything else we have has a hybrid option rwd/awd/fwd

from what i understand, government is coming down on the auto industry to produce better MPG vehicles. even trucks. they can still have the current power levels and get better mileage. the hybrid highlander is an example. 280hp vs the non hybrid 270 and 28mpg from a good size SUV.

Insideline managed to acquire a LFA from Lexus] for one week and tested the LFA against the Porsche GT2 RS on the track including an impromptu grudge match on the drag strip. Both cars won 2 races each making it a draw. Insideline recorded a 0 - 60 mph in 3.9 seconds without launch control system and achieved the 1/4 mile 11.6 seconds at 200*km/h (124*mph). Lexus LFA circled the skidpad in 1.02 g and achieved one of the highest slalom speeds ever recorded at 121.0 kilometres per hour (75.2*mph). Insideline also managed to do 3 dyno runs on a dynojet dyno on the Lexus LFA, which resulted in LFA putting down 383*kW (514*bhp) to the wheels, which after factoring in RWD drivetrain loss turned out to be substantially higher than the 412*kW (552*bhp) at the crank factory specification. [72]

Car and Driver track-tested the LFA in November 2010 while conducting a comparo versus Ferrari 599 HGTE. The test was conducted in Wales and recorded 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) time of 3.6 seconds using the launch control system and a quarter mile of 11.7 seconds at 201*km/h (125*mph). Car and Driver noted that these acceleration numbers were quicker than those of Ferrari 599 HGTE.[69] Motor Trend recorded a stopping distance from 60-0*mph in less than 94*ft (28.7*m), and pulled 1.05 g on their skidpad.[74] Road and Track tested the LFA at 119*km/h (74.2*mph) through the slalom and 1.04 g on the skidpad.[75]

Same here, I was a Toyota Master Diagnostic Tech, and with Toyota for 11 years, spent a few months as a training instructor for Toyota Motor Sales, NY Region, and have currently spent the past 7+ years with Lexus as a Diagnostic Specialist

You are correct, Toyota sold their hybrid design to Ford, it should be pretty much the same system that the Toys use...that happened in the early 00's when I was working in the regional office...
