It's Official! PONTIAC is dead.

Well, after 83 long years it looks like there will be no "performance inspired" brand at GM. Too bad. How do you all feel about it?
On a side note, I've been shopping for G8's lately and came across a 2009 G8 GT leather, with 6,500 miles on the clock with TVS installed, for $30,000!!! Sound like a good deal? Go for it or wait to see the fire sale of G8's at the dealer lots?

You're not going to pick up a G8 for a rediculous price because they are shutting that brand down. 30K for a TVS'd G8 if it has the sport and premium package sounds like a damn good deal.

I bet the dealers will be selling them for 20k$ at the end of this year the GT's that is....there is already a dealer in my area selling GT's at 25,500$ tax included. People just are not buying anything right now, let alone a performance sedan

It really sucks. The pontiacs were the only gm car I really liked other than the corvette. They were priced decent also. Buick should be the first on their lists of cars to go IMO. Keep pontiac for performanced enthusiasts, and cadillac can be the premier luxury line.

Hopefully Holden will find a new carrier to sell their car in the US.

Not sure what the deal is, but my dad was looking at buying a G8 about 3 weeks ago. He was trying to get the GXP and they were still wanting just $3000 under MSRP so he just said screw it. Pretty ridiculous that GM is still charging that much when they're in the *******. Beggars can't be choosers.
