I have a RANT!!!
#1
I was just minding my own business cruising around town tonight. A cop pulls behind me and tails my *** so close, I can't see her headlights. I'm in my 1996 Z-71 btw. Im just cruising at 30(speed limit), at 1500rpms, and she pulls me over. She stops me and asks "Either you have holes in your mufflers or you have straight pipes." I replied in a calm voice "ma'am, I have mufflers." She said, no you don't. She proceeded to look on my drivers side, and I said "ma'am, they're on the passenger side in front of the rear tire." She looks, and says "I don't see them." At this point, I'm starting to get a little hot, as they are in PLAIN view! I keep my cool, and she asks me to show them to her. I POINT THEM OUT ONE AT A TIME, and she says " I still don't see them." AT this point, my blood is boiling, but I can keep my cool like no other.
So, I'm still down there pointing them out, and she FINALLY "sees" them. She proceeds to say " those aren't mufflers". (I facepalmed).
She then took pictures of them in case I take her to court.( I'll expand on this later).
So, I just go back and sit in my truck and bake. She comes back, hands me a $90 ticket for "muffler infraction." She tells me that glasspacks are legal though, and I said what, basically straight pipes, as the packing blows out? THAT confused her, as she just got snookered by me. Oh, and she said "glasspacks are legal though". When I told her how the packing blows out, essentially causing straight pipes, she said "I didn't know that." She then told me that she runs them on a thunderturd at home. I was like, so YOU can run straight pipes, but i cant even run MUFFLED pipes? No response. Took her to school. What really grinds my gears, is that there are kids in town who are running straight pipes, and she goes after the kid who is legal... I mean, did you need to make quota or something? So, you can officially run straight pipes, but not muffled pipes in Kansas.
(On to the picture expandation). When I was idling there, I noticed a rattle, and I was like wtf. When I get home, I check it out, and my exhaust tip is haning low. She broke a clamp while taking pictures, and that REALLY sent me over the top.
Sorry for the rant.

i got profiled in my old 4.0 Exploder in OK a few times back in summer 05. just because i had out-of-state plates. had 3 different cops try to write me up for "louder than stock exhaust" with my MellowTone muffler as guys would literally drive by us with straight-piped 350s. some people are just plain stupid
