I found that adding an S after the HTTP let's me view blocked pages at work.

It's really how firewalls work, they'll block http://asdf.com however, you add the s... it thinks it's a different site and lets it through.
Another thing you can do is try and find a proxy to tunnel through.

I love Websense. Bought their stock in 2001 for like 8 bucks a share (after internet bubble, they were only a year old as well) and sold them after they split 2 for 1 in 2006 for like 28 or 29 a share.
