Some of you may have seen the Hertz edition Shelby Mustangs that came out a couple years ago. Then the Hertz edition Shelby Mustang Convertible that came out. The first one sold on barrett-jackson for over $250k.
Now there's the Hertz edition Corvette ZHZ.

I tried to rent a corvette for my vacation in Milwaukee and they weren't available. I think they are the rental company that said they only rent vettes in Florida.

 

And you thought buying a regular rental car was a bad idea, imagine how badly beaten a vette would be.

 

Cars like that aren't really cheap so they divide them out based on where they will be rented the most. Each location has control of their fleet so they buy the cars as they feel fit. No reason to have an expensive car sitting around collecting dust because it only gets rented a few days a month.
Had a guy in Philly today mad because he wanted to rent one. Philly isn't exactly a heavy tourist city so they don't carry them.
Vette's are available at big places like Vegas, Lax, SFO, Miami, Orlando, JFK, LGA, Newark, DCA, PHX. And with the ZHZ it's hard to divide 500 cars up between all of those locations and still meet demand.

no joke. The only reason you should buy it is as a collectors item.
Look up Hertz Shelby on youtube and see how much hell people give that car. Pretty soon there will be some of the zhz's.

 

Its $180 a day to rent it in Vegas.

 

even so, $200 to beat the living crap out of a 430hp vette would be a steal!

 

 

but i wont be old enough to rent for a couple years!
