had to put down my old dog

I had to put down my old dog today. It was a pug. He was almost 14 years old. I bought two dogs (a pug and a scottish terrier)when I was in the military when I was 20 years old, for the next 6 years these dogs followed me around the world. I had to put one of them down at 10 years old, and this one lived to almost 14. He could barely walk anymore, couldnt see, couldnt hear. He suffered enough. I am going to miss the little guy.

Sorry to hear the bad news..I know where your coming from, I had to put my best friend "louis" down..Cancer of the intestine..Spent $2200 on surgery and 3 weeks later he was going downhill fast..hard not to be selfish, keep them alive..
-Remember its our responsibility to care for them/keep em alive, And it is also ours to see em to the grave...RIP

Yeah, it has to be done sometimes. I just told my son that while he was at school he died. The old dog was a fighter, he was on the verge of death twice in the last two weeks, and by the end of the day he would force himself up and move around. It would happen on the weekend when the vet was closed of course. I was hoping he would just go naturally but he wouldnt give up. The vet said his blood pressure was very low today and that he wouldnt have made it too many more days.

Sorry to hear the sad news. Dogs truly are mans best friend! Don't know the feeling of doing such a thing but caught a glimpse of if not too long ago. My Pit got an allergic reaction from a bite and in the middle of the night (when all the vets are closed of course) and her throat started swelling up. Had to give her mouth to mouth twice to help open up her air way. Thought I was going to have to take out the old rifle to end her suffering. Worst feeling I've ever had. She pulled through thank God.
Sounds like you gave them dogs a hell of a life though. Not many dogs get to travel the world.

Sorry to hear man
It is crazy how attached to pets we get.. We had a maltese for 16 years, before he checked out on us. At that time he was more then half as old as me.. A few years later we bought another one, def filled that void in.. Again sorry to hear, but time for a new pup, to enjoy many more years with
