The whole point is that when they say it, you know exactly what they are talking about so you aren't making it any better, so get over it.

And face it, there's a new generation that has grown up texting their peers and talking on any of the instant messaging programs using abbreviated words and stupid made up crap, but its here to stay, so get over it.

I am part of that generation, but am proud of the fact that I DO NOT use that stuff. I enjoy coming off as college-educated.

You speak like I'm an old timer. How old do you think I am?

I still think it shows ones ignorance when they incorrectly refer to automotive parts. I say, learn your stuff, including terminology, then talk the talk.

What Im saying is that when somebody does refer to it that way, just ignore the question.

Newbie: I want to put a stall in my truk to beat sum ricers. lolz rotfl!!
The rest of the people on the forum: You wanna do WHAT with WHAT?

Or maybe make a sticky about proper jargon and just refer them to it.

And I wasnt exactly referring to anyone specific when I said my comments. There had been some people replying about how they hate it when people use the abbreviations. Im not on here to start a pissing match.

So, I guess when I go to the track, I should call it convertering up to 2400 or so before I leave the line? Really now, if we knew so much and were so technically inclined, why would we even be on here discussing all of this? Thats right, we really only know a little bit about what we are doing.

Why is this in the engine/exhaust section? Seems like it should go to the semantics area. Oh, SNAP, there isn't one!!

At the very least this waste of time (or is it an excuse to post *****?) should be in the GM Drivetrain and Suspension Section...

Heres a link:

I gave up a long time ago about trying to be completely correct in my lingo. I call it a stall and probably always will I am well aware of the difference but I am lazy so.... I have learned to quit correcting people like the whole naawwws thing, its not made by Nitrous Oxide Systems bet everyone perpetuates the Fast and the Furious theme of, "Yeah, I got naawws on my car" it aggrivates the #### out of me but if I let that get me worked up all the time well I have better things to do with my time.

If you really want to get technical this should have been posted in the drivetrain section or in the truck stop as it has no relevance to our ENGINES or to any specific brand.

Im getting a higher stall soon in my truck when I pull my a4.

IMO "Ignorance is bliss"

*I didnt bother reading the whole thread so if some of this has already been said get over it*

My pet-peeves are:

People calling nitrous NOSS or nawz or whatever the **** they say. Its nitrous. NOS is a company that sells nitrous kits and it is pronounced "en oh es"...."NOS"

thats the one that really pisses me off..but I have a couple more...

Cadillac converters.....that pisses me off too.
how the hell do you pronounce Magnuson??? is it mag-new-son or mag-nuh-son....a freind off mine corrected me when I called the company "mag-new-son" and I said what the hell dude who gives a ****, you know what I'm talking about and you have proved you ignorance several times with me on other subjects so just shove it bitch.(I said the part after the comma in my head by the way, because I'm not that much of an *******)

There are plent of things that people mispronounce and it pisses me off, but I dont correct them because I know there are things I have mispronounced too...

How about the way people drive?

There are a lot of bad(IMO) drivers out on the road, and most drive minivans and subarus, andI could segregate the different races that cannot drive a car at all, but I wont get into that here...anyone can get a lisence(sp, im retarded) in this country, if you can steer the car then the give you the card.

sorry, just had to say it.

(oh and old people too, they are not capable of driving either....actually, not all of them. Some are good, but the MAJORITY, and I base this off of personal experience...)

I know I could name off plenty of other things, but I would rather not waste the time(like I already havn't)
