Well I came across a killer deal on a long block 6.0, LQ4, for cheap on ebay. Its in the process of getting completely rebuilt. I will take pictures along the way. Here are some that I snapped the other night.





Plans for it is LQ9 pistons and a 224/224 cam with a 112 LSA.

OK I know its a mess but it will look nice at the end of the build. Going to paint the block Ford Red.

I got it completely apart and I am going to take the block to a machine shop and have it honed. I kinda hope that you do not have to have it bored out. The pistons are not going back in, putting different pistons in, if I do not have to have it bored.

 

might want to make that chevrolet orange on the block. the motor wont never run right if you paint it a ford color!

 

The cylinder walls look pitted in the 1 pic, is it just the pic or are they really pitted?

What are you doing with the head's if anything?

 

Yeah... But the Chevrolet Orange is too dull, IMO. I like the brilliant red, I would like to color match it to the truck to the truck.

 

I'm going to sell them. I have a set that are worked out.

are those really LQ4 pistons? i thought they were dished or at least more so than they r in these pics...
