Whats good out there for a decent price?
Im not real knowledgable on radar detectors, todays' laser systems and what not. Is there anything decent out there for $50-$150?

Got my valentine one in 2004 too. Mine took a **** a few months ago. I couldn't believe the thing just stopped working.... I sent it in, they fixed it and returned it FOR FREE! Not only is it the best radar detector you can buy the support is there. I wouldn't even waste my time trying anything else, Valentine one or NOTHING.

They're sold online, I won't type the actual web address but it's pretty easy to figure out
. Or you can find an older one for cheap on egay, then upgrade it as you can afford it. They are definitely that good, I once thought mine was acting up cause it was beeping for 5 minutes, until I met a cop. It picked the cop up from at least 6 miles away. However, I dunno about the newer ones, but mine is older, and it's pretty much useless in the city. It picks up cops from every direction and just goes nuts.

72 in 45. I had my 5 and 15 yr old with me. Was running behind getting the 15 yr old to work. Right on my road. Literally .5 miles from my house. It was a crazy pull over. He gave me 56 in a 45 because he has kids and "gets it". He then said he would have gave me the warning if I didn't have the radar detector. He said get rid of that thing. LOL dick. Oh he gave me the riot act and gave my 15 yr old this speech about speeding to work and it costing 200 bucks but how much are you going to make that day. 5yr old kicked it out of power plug, driving regular cab colorado. Don't get me started on the 45mph spot. The whole road is 55mph (everybody does 70 including cops) and at each end it goes down to 45mph the last 3/4's of a mile. On my end that 3/4's of a mile has no houses, it is an entrance to the highway...downhill! fuggers make so much money there.
The only thing now is maryland state troopers now have photo radar in their cars. I don't quiet understand the technology because I thought photo radar in maryland was only allowed to be used on roads with 35mph or below speed limits due to some issues with calibration, and that's permanent stations, not freaking cop cars. I know the photo radar is hard to detect because it uses a small amount of radar to just trigger the photo(s) for the computer (in cars, not the ones on poles. The pole photo radar uses basic radar). But i am sure the V1 would have caught it. The road was busy and if the v1 just chirped in that area it would have got my attention as it is normally quiet in that spot. Maybe some our of pt,net police officers will chime in on that technology. I know how they like to see use be able to beat the heat.
