Default Golfers inside please...

Any of you ever tried/own a set of clones? I found some good ones online with good customer reviews. I feel like you get what you pay for most of the time, but I cannot ignore the good reviews and the lure of a custom fit set of clubs for $1000 cheaper than the name brands.

Thanks!

I have some Ping knock-offs. I hit them just as good as any other clubs I've tried. I shoot in the 70's and there aren't any expensive clubs out there that I think would be worth getting over what I have now.

That's what I've heard from others. I'm happy if I shoot in the 90's, so I'm sure as hell not about to spend $1300 on some clubs.

Thanks!

If you're just out there for relaxation and enjoyment (i.e., if slicing a ball out of bounds doesn't get you too pissed off) then I'd find something cheap that you are comfortable with.

yeah ive had cheap o but i really started to get into it so i opted for a set of titleist blades . i got down to scratch and then got a real job so i had to slow down . but i did get me a double eagle on a 564 par 5 , dropped my 2nd shot from 234 with a 7 iron !!

sorry to brag but that is probably the highlight of my life.

but like stated above it depends on how your game is and where you want to go with it.

Well, right now I'm far too shitty for blades (and it will prob stay that way) so I'm really looking into the knock-offs. They have to be better than my Dunlop starter clubs!

as long as they are comfortable to you then you most likely will do fine with them. the worst is lose a few yards of distance with cheapos but thats just less distance you have to go into the woods to get the ball if you golf like me.
