Sounds a little conspiracy theorist and isolationist slated to me. Think about it this way. Right now we buy tons of crap FROM china. Now if they shift towards consuming then we can shift to where they are buying from the US. Now some isn't so great, but ignoring the fact that we need to do business with foreign countries can't be ignored. China has about 6 times our population they have a huge growing middle class which creates more consumers rather than producers everyday. This means increased labor cost and suddenly the closer they draw to parity we start to make up ground again. People in the 50s and 60s were afraid of Japan as they grew to be an economic power. Look how great that worked out for us. This time it's china. We need to compete With them on fair terms. If we do so it works out great for both sides and eventually we as a stronger nation will win the trade wars time and time again.
