Don't forget about rust and corrosion damage. Some of those cars sat in saltwater mixed with everything from oil to human ****.

I insured 8 salvage yards here in MS and none of them will buy cars from the storm that got wet. One guy told me that the only thing they could sell was the tires and the glass everything else was junk. The guy has been in salvage longer than I have been alive and I am 31 so I would take his advice.

It would make a nice parts truck. Or you could gut every square inch of it and turn it strictly into a race truck or 4 wheeler.

Depends how deep it was. A guy at work got one that had water up to the doors, but not deep enough to get to the wiring. Hes been driving it since he got it, and everything works. I wouldnt get one that was deep enough to get to the wiring though.

I have worked on a couple of the flood cars. Some are ok if they did not go to deep. THe ones that did go above the floor can be nothing but trouble though. Just have to know exactly what you are looking for.
