May be interested in what Volt V2.0 (MCE) has in store, particularly the advancements that they already are designing/prototyping for the power-train. Suggest a bit of change to the look of the car, albeit refinements as I know they're working with the constraints of a required COD ceiling.

I'm stoked that this car is finally being produced. I hope this car does really well. And Josh and Scott this car is not a pure electric car. You could drive it cross country without charging it once and you'd get 60+mpg if that's something you wanted to do. The motor also has a direct connection to the rear wheels but it only uses it when cruising above 70mph or uphill ascent if I remember correctly.
If you do decide to plug it in than depending on your commute you can possibly only have to fill it up every couple months because the car will run on gas periodically to ensure that the gas doesn't sit in the tank too long and go bad. Because theoretically you can never actually have to fill the tank if you drive less than 40-50 miles round trip to work per day.

They will go about 650 miles on a tank of fuel, the gas engine does not actually drive the rear wheels it only charges the batteries. Pretty neat car actually. Little on the expensive side if you ask me.

The battery that runs the volt is a 16,000Whr battery (16kWh), I'm glad to see that they're giving a huge warentee on the battery, IIRC it was something like 8 year 100,000 miles. That could be huge considering how expensive it would be to replace if it were to go bad.
