Pic taken from this article on LSXTV. First Peek at the Gen-V V8 From GM! - LSXTV

Talk of direct injection, 3 valve, dry sump? Sounds juicy, anybody have some top-secret details to share?

99% sure it will be direct inject... unless they're making the new c7 vette engine different that the new gen-5... c7 vette is "supposed" to be a 5.5L direct inject with more HP than the current ls3... of course with a large cube engine option still available so they say..

Hopefully the aftermarket will come along as quickly for these as they did the GEN III/IV

Seeing has they're damn near totally different I doubt good aftermarket goodies will be available for a while. If tuning is available a turbo ought to be fairly straight forward, since the injectors are probably of the same type as the cobalt ss and the other small direct injected motors.

Direct injection will be awesome...but will take a while for companys to make aftermarket injectors we can use...stock injectors can only support so much power.

Is that willis ? LOL

Im always excited about new GM V8 power!

Those valve covers are def different and would take some getting used to , wonder how hard it will be to do head swaps and such down the road if theres even a need to, guess im thinking wayyyyy ahead haha.

Now my friend that has a turbo direct injected cruze said his intake manifold and turbo housing are all one piece, thats def. different. Just throwing stuff around for discussion.
